I recently had the honor of coordinating a Pittsburgh wedding that held a special place in my heart – my cousin Rachel DeNino’s mid-June celebration with Vince Tonzo at the picturesque “The Barn at Falling Water” in Mill Run, Pennsylvania. Growing up across the street from Rachel and her sister Liana, and being an integral part of their family, made this wedding more than just a “job”, It was a journey back to our shared childhood memories and the warmth of nostalgia.

Nestled in a cozy cul-de-sac, our Western Pennsylvania neighborhood was the backdrop for countless adventures. From bike rides to Barbie playdates, and the countless hours spent together watching “Blue’s Clues”, the DeNino household was the safest, most comfortable childhood landmark that I know.

So, when Rachel called me to coordinate her wedding, there was no hesitation in my response. The opportunity to coordinate a wedding for someone so close to my heart was an honor and a joy!

Rachel and Vince met running track at St. Vincent College, but there were no run-away shoes in sight for the bride that day. She was beaming with happiness. Always present for the silliness, Rachel kept the whole day lighthearted and full of laughter, from her early morning jog with her sister, until the final bubbles!

The Venue:

Rachel and Vince stumbled upon “The Barn at Falling Water,” for their wedding when they were on a hike. The the picturesque water fall, and the beautiful forest trees as their ceremony backdrop, they felt that it was the perfect setting for their day. Nestled in the serene landscapes of Mill Run, this rustic yet elegant setting provided the canvas for Rachel and Vince’s love story to unfold. Surrounded by lush greenery and the whispers of nature, The Barn at Falling Water became their stage.

All in Good Taste took charge of the catering, ensuring that the culinary experience matched the special day.The enchanting floral arrangements, a key element in any wedding, were masterfully crafted by Gold Dust Floral. The flowers added a touch of elegance to the rustic charm of the barn, creating an ambiance that perfectly complemented the couple’s vision for their Pittsburgh wedding.

Capturing every precious moment of the day was Kali Lisk (who, just so happens to also me a cousin of ours…we have a talented family!) of Ivy and Linen, whose photography and videography skillfully brought the essence of the wedding to life.

In every detail, Rachel and Vince’s wedding was a harmonious blend of personal touches and professional excellence in this Pittsburgh wedding. It was not just an event; it was a celebration of love, family, and the beautiful journey that lies ahead for the newlyweds.

As I reflect on this magical day, I am reminded of the privilege it is to play a role in the milestones of those we hold dear. Rachel and Vince’s wedding was not just a job. For me, it was a labor of love and a reaffirmation of the enduring bonds that connect us. I feel grateful to witness the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
